In addition, the firm has the litigation experience to call upon extensive resources to handle such complex litigation as a multi-party case in which a worker was killed in a fall from a 2,000 foot radio antenna tower; the largest arson case ever defended in the State of Louisiana; a maritime ship collision which caused millions in damage to two railroad bridges on the Calcasieu River; a construction accident which destroyed a segment of a Tennessee Gas pipeline offshore, resulting in an award by settlement to that company of millions of dollars; and, other cases involving complex issues of policy interpretation, federal jurisdiction, and property and commercial law.
The firm has members licensed in Louisiana and Texas and handles cases and commercial projects in several adjoining states, as well as many other states, with the assistance of local counsel.
Members of the firm are currently active in all major insurance defense organizations.
Three attorneys with the firm each have over 20 years experience in a wide variety of legal work outside litigation. Practice areas include commercial and residential real estate, business contracts, probate successions, and estate planning. The attorneys have developed extensive experience in the real estate field, in particular handling large and small developments, including "big box" triple net leasing projects throughout the state of Louisiana, shopping center sites, residential subdivisions, condominiums, as well as assisting close individual business and home sale and loan transactions.
The firm is constantly and actively seeking out the most qualified lawyers in every area of expertise that we provide, as well as the most competent support staff available.
By appropriate use of associates and legal assistants, the client is provided with more economical services. All legal assistants are supervised by attorneys, and associates are supervised by partners on all matters.
Legal education is a firm-wide endeavor. Partners, associates and legal assistants are encouraged to participate actively at firm expense in continuing legal education programs, both as students and as instructors.

Since its inception, the firm has prided itself on a reputation for aggressive litigation, creative thinking and the application of cost-saving, results-oriented solutions to client problems across the board. The firmís primary practice areas are products liability; general liability; maritime personal injury; commercial and banking; real estate; probate; estate planning; employment; health care; workerís compensation; automobile liability; and general insurance litigation, including coverage disputes.

The Firm's Rate Structure
Woodley, Williams has a rate structure designed to fit client needs, consistent with the considerable expertise developed by the firm in its various practice areas. Special relationships with various clients can result in substantially lower fee schedules and in an exclusive relationship. Structures are always tailored to fit client needs consistent with the profitability of the business.
While our lawyers do work in an hourly-billing environment, their average billings reflect the firmís overall philosophy and conservative approach to the practice of law. Because the firmís overhead is fixed, in large measure, it is in a position to offer high quality service to its clients without exorbitant billing rates, which fits in with the philosophy of its clients.
Files are billed on a monthly or quarterly basis, but semi-annual and even completion billing is possible in some cases. The client is expected to pay major ongoing expenses once a certain dollar amount in expenditures is reached by the firm.
